Annual Fireworks to Go Off On Saturday, June 29

Santa Monica’s annual Fourth of July “Celebrate America” fireworks show will be held in June this year – Saturday, June 29, specifically – at Santa Monica College’s Corsair Field.
The fireworks show — the only one to be staged in Santa Monica — will feature the R&B sounds of the Tom Nolan Band and the Santa Monica College Jazz Big Band.
The gates at SMC’s Corsair Field, 16th Street and Pico Boulevard, will open at 5 p.m. The entertainment will start at 6 p.m. The fireworks, by Pyro Spectaculars, will be at dusk.
Parking is $4 for the public and free for SMC students and employees who have valid parking permits.
This year’s celebration will pay tribute to Santa Monica police officers and firefighters. Exhibitors will include Pennysaver, Rotary Club, Santa Monica Boys and Girls Club, Santa Monica Police and Fire Departments, Santa Monica Lions Club, and the American Cancer Society.
People attending may bring their own picnic dinners or buy food from vendors at the field. Alcoholic beverages, glass containers, barbecues and fireworks are prohibited.
“Celebrate America” is sponsored by the City of Santa Monica, SMC Associated Students, Coca-Cola, Viacom Outdoor, Fisher Lumber, Trader Joe’s, Santa Monica Firefighters Association, Smart Party Rents, Fresh & Natural, Pennysaver, Bourget Brothers, Awards Rex Group, Santa Monica Air Center, Asia Jewelry Company and Bob Gabriel Insurance.
