Susana Baca at The Knitting Factory, 10/3. Perhaps best known through
her affiliation with David Byrne, this Peruvian vocalist, with her
rich and melancholy vocalizing has often been compared to Cape Verde’s
Cesoria Evora, but Baca’s blend of Spanish melodies and African rhythm
makes her a critically acclaimed original in her own right.
