Terrence Rogers Fine Arts Exhibits British Portraits

For the International, Terrence Rogers Fine Arts, one of the participating galleries, will show Portraits by Robert Fawcett and Paul Hodgson from the Jill George Gallery in London.
British portraiture remains distinctive and is unique in today’s international art scene. Fawcett and Hodgson are two young artists working in the age-old tradition. With a keen sense of the history of British portraiture, they improvise and make the genre new.
But they come at it from opposite ends of the spectrum. Fawcett paints from life and works in oil on small copper panels, while Hodgson begins with photographs which he then manipulates on computers.
The exhibition will run from July 14 to August 11. An opening reception will be held Saturday afternoon, July 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. Terrence Rogers Fine Arts is located at 1231 Fifth Street in Santa Monica.
