Brentwood School’s Men’s Varsity Basketball team surprised undefeated Crossroads, 59-54, at Tuesday February 5’s thriller. The Crossroads men had not lost a league game in two years. The Roadrunners were ahead by 15 points at halftime but the third quarter belonged to Brentwood as it went on a 22-9 run to very much confuse the crowd. Robert Locke’s 16 points for Crossroads was not enough to offset the 25 points that Brentwood’s Jason Deutchman delivered.
Both Brentwood and Crossroads had impressive Thursday night games to build momentum heading into the postseason. Brentwood dropped Campbell Hall, 59-55, in another late game comeback. Starting the fourth quarter, Campbell Hall led 41-34, with Matt Llewellyn’s 23 points. But Brentwood yet again owned an entire quarter, outscoring Campbell Hall, 25-14. Brandon Turner earned 18 points for Brentwood.
Crossroads stomped Whitney, 62-44, with help from Robert Locke’s 22 points and the built-up rage from its loss to Brentwood.
Delphic League standings are Crossroads, 9-1; Montclair Prep, 8-2; Brentwood, 6-4; Pacific Hills, 4-6; Campbell Hall, 3-7; and Whitney, 0-10.

They finish the season at 10-1, losing only a league game to St. Mathias, the last place team in the Camino Real League.
Brentwood School’s Women’s Varsity Basketball team trounced cross-town rival Crossroads, 103-40, on Tuesday night. Brentwood’s Tanya Tsikanovsky and Jennifer Jackson scored 25 and 21 points, respectively. Both schools went on to victories Thursday night. Brentwood had another blowout versus Campbell Hall, 71-29.
