Valentine’s Day Concert Features Lute/Guitar Duets

Four Centuries of Lutes and Guitars is the title of Musica Angelica’s traditional Valentine’s Day concert, as director Michael Eagan teams up with John Schneiderman for a variety of pieces for the two instruments. Duets by Dowland, Galilei, Piccinini, Weiss, Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven will be featured, including a surprising arrangement of Haydn’s London Symphony.
Two performances are scheduled: Thursday, February 14 at Holliston Church in Pasadena; and Saturday, February 16 at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica. Both concerts will begin at 8 p.m.
Tickets may be purchased in advance by phoning (310) 458-4504. Tickets will also be available at the door. Admission is $25 general, $22 for seniors, and $9 for students. Visit www.Musica Angelica.org for information on this and future Musica Angelica events.
