We trust them because there is too much information out there and not enough hours in a day to sort it all out. The problem is these third parties are unusually anything but neutral, they have been hand-picked, cultivated and meticulously packaged by PR firms and corporations to make you believe what they have to say.” Tue, 2/12, 7:30pm: SCIENCE IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST. Wed 2/13, 7:30pm: Douglas Henry Daniels will read & discuss LESTER LEAPS IN: The Life and Times of Lester “Pres” Young. Young “was jazz’s first hipster. He performed in sunglasses and coined and popularized phrases like ‘that’s cool’ and ‘you dig’. According to B.B. King, ‘Prez invented - he barely breathed into this horn, creating an intimacy that gave me the chills.’” Mailing list: Send a blank e-mail to internet@lists.MSBooks.com with SUBSCRIBE as the subject.
