Café Samo To Open Friday Night

Student groups play in benefit

Three Santa Monica High School student groups — The Testostertones, Vallhalla and the Gospel Choir – will perform in Café Samo, a cabaret show, on Friday, February 8, and, again on Friday, February 15, in the theater in the Humanities building on the Samohi campus.
Members of the three groups are students in the Samohi Choral Studies Department. They created, arranged and developed their musical numbers and rehearsed them on their own time.
A silent auction and raffle will be held on both nights, with proceeds going to the choral program.
Under the direction of Christopher Rhodes, the Choral Studies program at Samohi is one of the most accomplished in the region, winning awards and competing regularly in state and national tournaments.
With over 200 students now enrolled in the program, more funds are needed to maintain its rigorous standards.
People wishing to make contributions to the Choral Studies program can mail them directly to the Samohi Choir at Santa Monica High School, 601 Pico Boulevard, Santa Monica 90405.
