Soccer Symposium: Exploring Knee and Head Injuries
Bert Mandelbaum, M.D., and Holly Silvers, the project
coordinator of the Santa Monica Research Foundation, will host a
soccer symposium on discovering practical methods for reducing the
rate of knee and head injuries among young.
Dr. Mandelbaum has been the team physician and medical director of
US World Cup soccer teams since 1992 and served as the chief medical
officer of 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup. He also is the assistant
medical director of MLS and a member of the FIFA Sports Medicine
Committee.
Ms. Silvers holds a masters degree in physical therapy and formerly
served as an assistant trainer with the New York – New Jersey
Metrostars.
