Library To Offer Teen Poetry Sessions

The Main Library in Santa Monica has scheduled two evenings of poetry for teenagers.
On Tuesday, January 15, from 7-8:30 p.m., award-winning Santa Monica poet Sonya Sones will speak about how she became a poet and read from her young adult novels-in-verse “Stop Pretending” and “What My Mother Doesn’t Know.”
On Tuesday, January 22, from 7 to 9 p.m., poet and teacher Cindy Milwe will lead a poetry-writing workshop. Attendees should bring their own journals or notebooks as well as their favorite poems by other writers.
The free programs are supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
Pre-registration is encouraged for both events. For more information call Catherine Ronan at (310) 458-8976.
