Reflecting the Concerns of the Community  December 26 - January 1, 2001 Vol. 3, Issue 28

Of Particular Interest

Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey

Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey will screen in a brand new Super Panavision 70 mm print shown for the first time in 30 years. The screenings will end on Wednesday, January 2.
2001 is still among the best films ever made and proved more so in its inability to look dated.
The Cinematheque will also feature a Stanley Kubrick Retrospective beginning January 11, to run through January 19. The series will be a near-complete retrospective of Kubrick’s classic films, including an “ultra-rare” screening of his very first film, a documentary called “Day of the Fight.” “Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures” will also screen.
2001: A Space Odyssey plays at the American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, information, call (323) 466-FILM.
