Kwanzaa Stories At the Library Next Week
The African-American and Pan-African holiday, Kwanzaa,
celebrates what it means to be African and human in the fullest sense.
It begins today, December 26, and runs through January 1,2002.
On Thursday, December 27, the Main Library will mark Kwanzaa with
stories told by Michael McCarty, who travels the world, telling
traditional stories and learning new ones. The program, at 2:30 p.m.,
is free and recommended for children ages 4 and up. For more
information call the Children’s Department at (310) 458-8621. |
