Santa Monica Post Office (1937)

At 1248 Fifth Street, the Main Post Office is another of the splendid products of the federal government’s Public Works Administration, which flourished in the 1930s. Designed by Neal A. Melick and Robert A. Murray, the simple one- story building is distinguished by splendid Zigzag Moderne ornamentation – inside and out.
