Pacific Park Adds Rides

This month, Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier will add two new rides. According to press materials, the La Monica Swing will be “reminiscent of the Family Swing Ride on the Pier in the 1930s.”  The swing holds 24 passengers for a nearly three-minute ride, and whirls riders 20 feet above the pier deck in a circular motion.
The Pier Patrol features “eight themed trucks which ride along a track through beach scenes complete with palm trees, sand, a lifeguard chair and a miniature replica of the famous Santa Monica Pier arch.”
Both rides are family oriented, with a minimum height requirement of 36 inches. They were manufactured for Pacific Park by S.B.F. in Padrova, Italy.
Pacific Park features 12 rides, 19 midway games, and an oceanfront food plaza. Parking is available on the pier and in adjacent lots.
