Ford Donates 2001 Chassis To Food Bank

Buerge Ford was host for the presentation of a 2001 F-550 to the Westside Food Bank. Ford Motor Company donated the customized flatbed chassis to assist the local food bank in its food collection efforts. The new chassis replaced an F-530 that had been donated by the Westwood Presbyterian Church congregation and Ford.
Westside Food Bank’s Warehouse Manager, Milton Gonzalez believes the new chassis will help “fight the increasing local need for food by getting back to our full schedule of pick-ups from food drives, wholesalers, food industry donators and field gleaners.” Gonzalez added that he is “grateful” to Ford and the congregation of Westwood Presbyterian Church — who sponsored the food bank’s request for a new vehicle — “for making this possible.”
The Westside Food Bank supplies food to 65 social service agencies in West Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, and West Hollywood, reaching more than 70,000 people each year, half of whom are children.
