Calvary Church To Celebrate New Sanctuary
The latest addition to the campus at Calvary Church in Pacific Palisades will be celebrated with a community open house and official dedication on Sunday, April 29, from 2 to 5 p.m.
Pastor Steve Faubion will recall Calvary’s history. Dr. Janet Harms, recently named the church’s organist-in-residence at Calvary Church, will give a recital in the new 660-seat sanctuary, and refreshments will be served in the newly landscaped courtyard.
The 25,000-square-foot, $8.3-million sanctuary, designed by Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates, will be officially dedicated at 4 p.m.
Calvary Church is a non-denominational, bible-based church whose 300-plus families raised the needed funds to complete the sanctuary project. which was begun in July, 1999. The church’s school buildings were completed in 1992.
“I believe that this sanctuary will clearly proclaim Calvary Church’s ifelong identity and purpose to the Palisades and Westside community — that we are a church that worships a God who is characterized by majesty and splendor,” Pastor Faubion said. “I also have a tremendous sense of personal fulfillment in knowing that we have accomplished one of the main things God sent me to Calvary to lead our people to do.”
Everyone is invited to attend the ceremonies. For more information, contact Calvary Church at (310) 454-6537.
