
Designed by public artist Jody Pinto, in conjunction with the redesign of Palisades Park, "The Beacon" resembles a small sailboat with a very tall translucent turquoise mast set on a wooden deck at the top of the California Incline. It cost $182,000 and is meant to be a new Santa Monica landmark as well as an observation deck.
