Letter to the Arts Community

Contributions Solicited For Samohi Artists

   Dear Art Community Member:
Many people do not realize that the students at Santa Monica High School produce some amazing art work. We are especially proud of the class of 2001, many of whom plan to attend art school and pursue art as their career. The Art Department would like to include the art community in recognizing some of our seniors' accomplishments. We would like to expand our awards program to include the wonderful arts community of Santa Monica and Los Angeles.
We have a variety of courses at Santa Monica High School, including Ceramics, Sculpture, Design, Traditional and Digital Photography, Painting and Drawing. We welcome award sponsors to preview the senior show and pick the winners for their awards. We also welcome awards for different art criteria that allow the faculty to select a recipient.
Would you join us in celebrating the achievements of the Santa Monica High School Class of 2001? This sort of recognition means a great deal to young artists and will reward their hard work. We need your reply by Friday March 31 so that we can plan for our ceremonies for Thursday, May 10 at 7 p.m. in the Roberts Arts Gallery. Hope to see you then!
