Olney on the Mend After Heart Bypass
After undergoing a sextuple bypass operation ten days ago, KCRW-FM radio host Warren Olney is recovering at home. According to KCRW's Sarah Spitz, "We don't have an ETA on his return to KCRW -- the most important thing is for him to be fully recovered. But he really is looking forward to his return, with a renewed vigor for what he does."
In an email to his staff Olney wrote, "my horrendous-sounding sextuple bypass was the equivalent of a physical tune-up. (Not quite like hitting the spa, I admit.) My surgeon says that, because of the bypasses, my heart is now healthier than it has been for 15 or 20 years. World, stand back!"
Until Olney's return, the substitute host for the nationally syndicated "To the Point" is Matt Miller, host of KCRW's "Left, Right and Center." Kyle McKinnon, managing editor of both "To the Point" and "Which Way, LA," is hosting a half-hour version of "Which Way LA" weeknights at 6:30.
