Reflecting the Concerns of the Community  February 21-27, 2001 Vol. 2, Issue 36

Center Stage

Jazz Icon Toots Thielemans

At Catalina Bar & Grill. 2/25. Truly one of the last great living jazz legends who’s played with all the greats including Benny Goodman in the ‘50s, George Shearing, as well as being a member of bop king Charlie Parker’s All Stars. His masterful chromatic harmonica playing has been self-described as playing "between a smile & a tear." Don’t miss this rare chance to see this Belgian Jazz master, now nearly 80 years old, he’s blessing LA with a date on his current US tour. 8:30 & 10:30pm shows.
