After suffering in illness at the age of 12, Marisol Solano was suffering from Anca Glomerulonephritis (kidney failure) and had to go through three rounds of chemotherapy. She is now stable condition at the age of 15 and has made the Jr. Varsity Softball Team at Santa Monica High School.

State University of New York says swimmers have lower heart rates compared to those of non-swimmers. Swimming was also found to be a viable workout for people in cardiac rehabilitation and recovering from heart failure or artery disease.
