The Santa Monica Women's Volleyball team began league play this last week and are currently 1-1 in the Western State South Conference going 4-6 overall to date inside a season where the Corsairs have been learning, growing, and steadily improving.

There is a difference on the St. Monica (7-0, 2-0 in Camino Real League) women's volleyball team this year, and their recent win over St. Bernard (4-8) claiming victory to three of four sets 25-21, 25-15, 17-25, 25-21 is showing that the Mariners are a competitive team that can adapt to any team trying to adapt to them.

Santa Monica College (3-2-3) lost their first league game on Friday 2-1 to the Citrus College Fighting Owls (6-0-2) at home in a game that wasn't forgiving for the Corsairs with the game ending on a failed penalty kick by Corsairs Yennifer Baca for a chance to tie the game.
