Two aquatic sports will be offered at the Santa Monica High School aquatics center this summer and these popular water sports are none other then Splashball and U10 Youth Water Polo. Splashball and U10 Youth Water Polo head coach Matt Flanders said that the program has been successful since it was first offered to children two years ago. "This is the second year Santa Monica High school has offered the U10 Youth Water Polo program," said Flanders. "We run two programs right now. Splashball, which is Water Polo modified for the kids at the shallow end with smaller goals and smaller balls non contact, and U10 Water Polo which is full Water Polo rules with smaller balls and smaller goals but with all the deep end."

After an amazing season where Santa Monica High School went 8-0 in the Ocean League, the Vikings Waterpolo attack was shut down Saturday afternoon by Los Osos 15-6.

The Santa Monica High School Boys Water Polo Team (21-6) played for the division title Monday and won decisively 16-8 over the Beverly Hills Normans. The Vikings continued their rout of the Ocean League by beating the El Segundo Eagles 11-6 on Wednesday, and with the win they are the undisputed Ocean League champions.

The goalies at Santa Monica High School, Jack Schwartzman and Alex Harros, did their job well against Torrance High School Wednesday limiting the water Warriors to only two goals while the offense for the Vikings racked up 12.

Jackson Hauty, Matthew Ciantrone, and Robbie Staenberg powered the Santa Monica High School waterpolo team to victory in an intense aquatic shoot out against the Palisades Dolphins with the Vikings coming out on top 14-11.

All-League Sophomore Jackson Hauty of the Vikings Waterpolo team at Santa Monica High School prepares to lead an aquatic team this Thursday that will return only three starters, but the team may hold a few surprises from some new comers that are going to get their first shot playing on the varsity team this season.

The 2012 K-5 Spashball season and Waterpolo camp held at the Santa Monica High School Aquatics center began this last week with session one winding to a close Friday and session two scheduled to start up June 25 and lasting until June 29.
