Swordsmen Beat Lady Mariners In Basketball 53-49

The St. Paul Swordsmen dashed the hopes of the St. Monica Mariners (18-5) winning the clash of the El Camino Real League titans 53-49 for the second time this season where the Mariners looked to pull off their first win against the Swordsmen by tying the game at 44-44 with 2:58 left to play in the fourth quarter.

St. Monica Mariners Sink St. Paul Swordsmen In Soccer 3-2

St. Monica High School (9-5-1) defeated St. Paul (2-8-3) in soccer outscoring the Swordsmen 3-2 in a gripping second half showdown where Mariners forward Jack Cain scored all three goals in a rainy game at Airport Park Friday afternoon.

Opposite hitter Briana Nixon makes a kill for St. Monica against St. Paul to put the Mariners within six at 22-16 during the third set at home Monday night.

Mariners Shocked By Swordsmen In League Volleyball Championship Game

After winning the first volleyball set 25-15, St. Monica (9-4) looked like they were going to easily cruise to victory over St. Paul (8-6), but the Swordsmen came together and held fast against the onslaught of the Mariners to win the next three sets 25-23, 25-22, and 25-21.
