The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education approved the appointment Dr. Mark Kelly as the new Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Student Services and Bertha Roman as the new Director of Educational Technology for 2014-15.

They're kicking off their participation in Grades of Green's Trash-Free Lunch Challenge this Friday, now in its fourth year, with a "Prep Rally" to motivate and inspire students to make a positive impact on their environment.

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education meeting on Thursday, Oct. 2 will be relocated to the district office at 1651 16th Street, Santa Monica. The district said the change was due to construction scheduled for the Malibu City Council Chambers.
