Jerry McMillan: The Artist’s Image and Dennis Hopper: The Fort Worth 400. Craig Krull Gallery concludes two exhibits this Saturday, April 7. The Artist’s Image focuses on one aspect of McMillan’s artistic practice, his photographic portraiture of artists. This exhibition demonstrates his inventive techniques at creating a persona rather than a mere likeness. The Fort Worth 400 consists of the original and intact collection of more than 400 6×9’ photographs that were included in Hopper’s 1970 exhibition organized by Henry T. Private Eyes. CRE Outreach’s Theatre by the Blind puts its unique spin on Steven Dietz’s ‘Private Eyes,’ a drama with comedy about jealousy and revenge that concludes this Sunday, April 8. Ghosts. Mrs Helen Alving’s struggle with the ghosts of her past is about to come to an end in this modern adaption of the classic play at the Edgemar Center for the Arts concludes this Sunday, April 8. Tomorrow, commemorating the tenth anniversary of her husband’s death, a new orphanage will be dedicated in his name. For 29 years, since her mother and two aunts arranged for her to marry the wealthy, charming Captain Alving, Helen has kept a dark secret – the reality of her late husband’s deviant excesses and his disease. Apollo 16 + 40 Years: The Moon Corrects the Geologists, examines the surprises that were revealed 40 years ago when Apollo 16 with three astronauts landed in the Cayley-Descartes region of the moon. The show features images, video and spoken word. The feature shows are at 8 p.m. and are preceded by ‘The Night Sky Show’ at 7 p.m., which re-creates the night sky and provides the latest information on space exploration. Kissing Circles. Child’s Play Photography Exhibit at Santa Monica Pier. The historic walls of the Merry-Go-Round Building at the Santa Monica Pier will be home to a new photography exhibit called ‘Child’s Play’ through May 28 and explore the fun, awkward, whimsical, magical memories, and moments of childhood featuring the collaboration of three local photo-artists: Ellen Freyer, Judy Raffel, and Eileen Rapke. A reception for the photographers is set for Sunday, April 15 from 2-5 p.m. The exhibit is open to the public and children are welcome.
