Bending down to pick up a final cigarette butt on the side of the road, three Santa Monica High School students end an afternoon’s worth of cigarette counting and collection. Samohi Team Marine members Martin Liu, Kimberly Fuentes, and Zoe Parcells went through this ritual for one day a week for 16 weeks last year.

After suffering in illness at the age of 12, Marisol Solano was suffering from Anca Glomerulonephritis (kidney failure) and had to go through three rounds of chemotherapy. She is now stable condition at the age of 15 and has made the Jr. Varsity Softball Team at Santa Monica High School.

It's all business for the students of Regional Occupation Program’s Virtual Enterprise class at Santa Monica High School. In an innovative new venture, students developed a product line, made all management decisions including electing a chief executive officer and deciding a salary, and created a business plan to pitch at a simulated trade show in Long Beach, where they won first place.
