A stunning array of fine art photography from YourDailyPhotograph.com’s Editions of Eleven and Vices series of works drew hundreds to a pop-up space in Santa Monica Place, everyone keen to get an up-close and personal view at the stunning works, usually only available to view online.

Big Bear recently experienced one of the worst forest fires in its history, with over 31,000 acres burned along the eastern flank of the San Bernadino Mountains. Luckily, there was no loss of life, but in the words of Nick Bruinsma, Public Information Officer for Big Bear Fire, recovery of the forest will last “beyond my time.”

While some might swear by sudoku or word puzzles, there’s evidence that something much more near and dear to our hearts could help prevent cognitive decline: photography. In a study published in Psychological Science, a group of senior citizens who took a three-month photography course saw a significant increase across a number of mental tasks.

Lauren Greenfield is an established photographer and filmmaker and was named one of the 25 most influential photographers by American Photo. Her work was recently exhibited at the Getty Museum and prior to her latest documentary, “The Queen of Versailles,” she won multiple awards for “THIN, kids + money” and “Beauty CULTure.”
