The Salvation Army Delivers Early Holiday Cheer In Santa Monica

The holidays came early for 110 deserving boys and girls on Tuesday morning after they were set loose inside the Sears in Santa Monica with $100 gift cards to select coats, sweaters, shoes, and other winter-time necessities, just in time for the cooler weather.

U.S. Military vet Dave Johnson has now raised more than $25,000 for the Call of Duty Endowment.

Upper West Hosts Summer Of Soul’s Grand Finale On Sunday

The Summer of Soul Art Exhibition is, to some Santa Monica residents, symbolized by the giant pair of neon sunglasses that people have been able to draw at the beach at the Twilight Concert Series each Thursday night.

Since 1937, the Assistance League of Santa Monica chapter has been helping children and families in need in the Santa Monica Bay Area. They work closely with the Santa Monica/Malibu Unified School District and local Los Angeles Unified School District to identify those in need in the community.

Assistance League of Santa Monica member volunteers gathered on Wednesday at the Chapter House to fill 420 backpacks with age appropriate school supplies, which includes notebooks, writing utensils, and other materials, as well as a hygiene kit including deodorant and toothbrushes.

The sixth annual Evening on the Beach at Jonathan Beach Club returns Thursday, Aug. 6 with proceeds benefiting St. Vincent’s Meals on Wheels.
