Santa Monica History Museum Reschedules Sunday's History Program

Due to the road closures because of the LA Marathon, the Santa Monica History Museum's Discover the History program has been rescheduled from this Sunday to next Sunday, March 16.

The Santa Monica Museum of Art (SMMoA) recently opened two new exhibitions: one featuring New York-based artist Keltie Ferris and Massachusetts-based artist Xylor Jane.

SMMoA presents the Snowflake Man Puppet Show this Saturday, Jan. 25 at 3 pm.

The Santa Monica History Museum has been awarded a $4,000 grant from the Employees Community Fund of Boeing CA for its Magic of History: Youth Programs.

“Now Boarding: Fentress Airports   The Architecture of Flight” is the first-ever, multi-media exhibition examining the changing state of airport architecture and design.

The Santa Monica History Museum has announced that celebrity Stephanie Edwards is the Honorary Chair for its Silver Anniversary year and Annual Gala Tribute Dinner. The dinner will honor museum founders Louise and Bob Gabriel, museum architect Kris Andresen, and a long-time supporter Mary Ann Powell, CEO of Pacific Park at Santa Monica Pier.

Incognito attendees can buy 8”x10” size artworks for $350 this Saturday at the Santa Monica Museum of Art fundraiser, but the identity of the artist isn’t revealed until after the purchase.

The California Heritage Museum launched its “Food Truck Bazaar” on Tuesday, which is set to become a weekly community event on Main Street.

Diane and Bob Dempster are building their own World Cruiser, a replica of the original planes that were the first to be flown around the world. Bob will talk about the project in Santa Monica this Saturday, Jan. 26.

The Santa Monica Museum of Flying will welcome its newest attraction this Friday, Dec. 7 -- the MaxFlight high definition, 3D virtual reality flight simulator FS3000. The unit was installed at the Museum this week and will be available to visitors beginning Friday.
