Full 10-Hour Northbound 405 Freeway Closures At Santa Monica Boulevard Tonight

Santa Monica commuters prepare -- the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project contractor will conduct two full 10-hour northbound I-405 freeway closures from the Santa Monica Boulevard off-ramp to the Santa Monica Boulevard on-ramp in West Los Angeles tonight, May 17, and Saturday, May 18 from 11 pm to 9 am each day.

Ramps along the 10-mile closure area of the 405 Freeway between the 10 and 101 freeways will begin to be shut down for "Carmageddon II" as early as 7 p.m. tonight and closure of individual freeway lanes will begin at 10 p.m. to ensure full freeway closure by midnight.

405 Freeway Wilshire Blvd. Ramps Reopen Three Weeks Ahead Of Schedule

Three weeks ahead of schedule, the 405 Freeway westbound Wilshire Boulevard on-ramp and the northbound off-ramp will re-open to traffic today. The two ramp closures, popularly known as “Ramp Jam,” were originally scheduled for 90-day closures that officially began on June 22 with reopening originally scheduled for Sept. 22.
