Bail was not granted to a 30-year-old Culver City man on Friday, April 4 after being caught drinking in a Santa Monica park, then being found in possession of a handful of stolen ID cards and a glass pipe used for smoking narcotics.

This man also had a no bail warrant from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department who were on a routine patrol saw a man sitting in a gazebo located at Crescent Bay Park in the 2000 block of Ocean Avenue at 1:32 pm on this day.

The man was illegally drinking from a 32oz glass bottle of Miller Beer.

The officers detained this man for the beer drinking and asked him for some identification.

The man presented a drivers’ license that clearly did not belong to him.

The officers questioned him about the anomaly and he gave them a different birth date and said he could not remember his home address.

The officers then searched him and discovered several other ID cards in other people’s names.

The officers decided to arrest him for the drinking violation.

During a more thorough search they found a cylindrical glass pipe, of the type commonly used to smoke narcotics, concealed in his waistband.

Later at the jail, his fingerprints revealed his true identity, and showed he had a no bail warrant from LAPD.

This man was charged with giving false information, possession of drug paraphernalia, and drinking in public.
