The fifth-grade class at St. Monica Catholic Elementary School gathered in their auditorium for a graduation ceremony on Tuesday, March 11 marking the completion of a 10-week D.A.R.E. program taught by Santa Monica police officer Austin Brown.

Brown, along with fellow officers Dean Hodges and Carlos Jaen, congratulated students for completing the citywide program dedicated to “teaching students good decision-making skills to help them lead safe and healthy lives.”

Joining in the celebration were the children’s parents, their teacher Mrs. Wendy Hackney, and principal Dr. Neil Quinly.
