Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel has been chosen by Condé Nast Traveler readers as one of the nation’s Best Business Hotels in the magazine’s 16th Annual Business Travel Awards reader poll released Wednesday.
The award comes on the heels of the hotel’s $4.5 million façade renovation, featuring new glass guestroom balconies that enhance the crystal clear views of the Pacific Ocean and Malibu.
The renewed façade is the beginning of a series of capital investments to keep the hotel fresh and competitive within the thriving Santa Monica hotel scene.
“We like to say that whether you’re traveling on business or pleasure, our impeccable views and service make this the place where you want to start and end your day,” said Paul Leclerc, Managing Director. “We’re thrilled to learn that Condé Nast Traveler readers and guests visiting us while on business think so too.”
Additional exterior enhancements to the hotel include the addition of “edible landscaping” and a “living wall,” -- a green design initiative that advances the hotel’s Santa Monica Green Business Certification.
In January 2010, the hotel completed a $7 million remodeling including new chic lobby furniture, atrium redesign, marble flooring, a state-of-the-art sound system and sleek new pool deck furnishings.
The guestroom bathrooms also received new wall coverings, marble vanities with contemporary fixtures as well as new bathtub tiles and polished marble floors.
