Heal the Bay’s Santa Monica Pier Aquarium will host a CD release party with children’s performer Birdie Mendoza this Sunday, Sept. 22.
At 1 pm, Mendoza will perform songs from her new CD, "Move Like An Animal," in the Green Room of the marine education center, located at 1600 Ocean Front Walk.
An artist, songwriter and producer, Mendoza’s tropical Latin beats and catchy refrains encourage kids to shake their tail feathers.
The Spanish language version, "Muevete Como Los Animales," is also available.
Admission is $10 per family (up to two adults and four children), which includes a free CD and admission to all Aquarium exhibits and activities.
In addition to being soulful, upbeat and fun, "Move Like An Animal" teaches children about animals and offers some life lessons as well.
The song “Chimpanzees” shows us that all creatures are equal.
“I’m a Toucan” and “Running Far” explain how to overcome obstacles and pursue your passions.
Hear Mendoza’s new ocean-themed songs "Sea Turtles" and "Dolphins," and discover the wonders of the Aquarium --pet a spiky sea urchin, knobby sea star or sticky sea anemone and experience the salty spray of a swell shark during the 3:30 pm presentation and feeding at the shark exhibit.
The aquarium is located at 1600 Ocean Front Walk, Santa Monica.
