A 22-year-old resident of La Palma, California was arrested on Saturday, July 13 for smashing a car window with his fist outside a Main Street bar.
At 2:15 am officers of the Santa Monica Police Department received a radio call telling them that vandalism had just occurred at a store on the 2600 block of Main Street.
The officers rushed to the scene and met with a victim who told them what had happened.
Apparently, the victim had been sitting in his car that was parked on Main Street, coincidentally close to a bar.
He noticed a group of individuals sitting on the curb in front of the bar.
The victim then decided to say to this group of people, “let’s all get some food,” however, immediately after finishing this statement, rather than receiving a response such as: “Yes, let’s do that my friend, because I too am hungry,” a male member of the group stood up and began to yell different profanities at the victim.
This man then walked to the rear of the victim’s vehicle and punched the trunk with his fists, followed up by a punch to the rear window, thus shattering the glass.
The victim desired a private person’s arrest so the officers obliged and arrested this man from La Palma.
After being booked for vandalism, this man’s bail was set at $5,000.
