St. John’s Health Center may be heading towards new ownership after the Santa Monica hospital’s recent management overhaul, according to the LA Times.

The Times reports that UCLA Health System and Ascension Health

Alliance in St. Louis are teaming up for a potential acquisition;

another strong contender to buy St. John's is Providence Health &

Services, a Catholic hospital chain that owns St. Joseph Medical Center

in Burbank and four other Southern California hospitals.

St. John's interim Chief Executive Mike Wall told physicians this

week in an internal memo that "no decisions have been made" about a

possible sale of the hospital, according to the Times.
