A new burger joint is opening in Santa Monica this Wednesday called Burger Lounge, which markets itself as a eco-conscious fast-casual concept heralded for its 100 percent grass-fed beef burgers and vegetarian options.
It will be located on Arizona between 2nd Street and the Third Street Promenade in downtown Santa Monica.
The restaurant will be the company’s ninth locale throughout San Diego and Los Angeles, and third location to open in Los Angeles in less than a year and a half period. Two additional locations are slated to open in Del Mar and Brentwood later this year.
For the opening, Burger Lounge has partnered with the local chapter of Growing Great -- the nonprofit school garden and nutrition education organization is dedicated to inspiring children and adults to adopt healthy eating habits.
On opening day, Wednesday, March 13, all proceeds from the sale of The Lounge Burger made with fresh 100 percent single-source, American grass-fed beef will be donated to the cause.
On Thursday, March 14, all proceeds from the sale of the vegetarian options at Burger Lounge, including the Organic Quinoa Veggie Burger, Fresh Vegetable Salad, and Organic Quinoa Salad, will be donated.
“Growing Great’s mission is something that really resonates with the core of the Burger Lounge brand and our commitment to using the best ingredients available to offer our guests a healthier dining experience,” said Burger Lounge President/CEO J. Dean Loring. “We hope to build upon this partnership for the Santa Monica opening and continue working with Growing Great for their programs in the local community.”
For those looking to take a walk on the wild side, the Santa Monica restaurant will also open with the seasonal special grass-fed Elk Burger with jicama slaw, duck cracklings and chipotle aioli that will be available during the months of March and April at all Burger Lounge locations.
Burger Lounge’s commitment to doing a common thing, uncommonly well, extends to the beverage selection with Fair Trade, cane-sweetened fountain soda sourced from Maine Root; and four organic brewed iced teas.
Like all Burger Lounge locations, Santa Monica will offer local draft beers on tap and wine by-the-glass.
The expansive location in the former Acadie Crepes space on Arizona between 2nd Street and the Third Street Promenade, is positioned to be a beacon for local residents and shoppers.
The 2200 square foot restaurant will feature 19 seats inside and 12 seats on the adjacent enclosed patio for diners who wish to enjoy their grass-fed beef alfresco-style.
Burger Lounge’s Santa Monica outpost will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday.
Burger Lounge is walk-in only and does not accept reservations.
