Women from all over Los Angeles will take part in a V-Day Flash

Mob today, Feb. 14 at 4:30 pm outside Barnes and Noble at the corner of Third

Street Promenade and Wilshire in Santa Monica.

It is part of the “One Billion Rising” initiative that calls

for a stop to violence against women and girls based on the staggering

statistic that one in three women on the planet will be beaten or raped during their

lifetime.

At the flash mob, women will join activists, writers,

thinkers, celebrities, women, and men across the world as they express their

outrage, demand change, strike, dance, and rise in defiance of the injustices

women suffer, demanding an end at last to violence against women.
