Santa Monica restaurants are taking the opportunity of

thanks to its casual-chic atmosphere, delicious food, and attractive
20-something crowd, Brick+Mortar at 2435 Main Street is touting itself as “the

Brick+Mortar will be hosting a “Stoplight Party,” so
come guests should come wearing the color of their relationship status (red =

Casual And Fun Set Menu
Bar Pintxo at 109 Santa Monica Boulevard is offering a
four course menu for $60 per person (add an extra $30 for wine pairing per
person), with two different seating times: 6:30pm and 9pm.

year Sherry Vinegar and piquillo peppers. The second course is a Wild Mushroom
soup with black truffles. For the main course, there is an option of Filete de
Pez Manta with brussel sprouts or three hour Rioja Braised Beef Cheeks. Dessert
will be dark chocolate truffles with roasted hazelnuts and rose water cream.
Chef David Plonowski said he wanted to create a menu
that was indulgent and rich in flavors, but also sticking to the restaurant’s
Spanish roots.
“The first course, oyster escabeche is an aphrodisiac
and are also very rich as well as the chocolate and truffles in our dessert
dish,” Plonowski said.
Plonowski said everything was created using in a Spanish
technique, but infusing modern techniques to make it something different for
the guests.
“The beef cheeks are slow braised in red wine for three
hours,” he said. “The cream underneath the chocolate truffles will be infused
with rose pedals. Every preparation is designed to be luxurious.”
Bar Pintxo has always been on a walk-in basis, but this
is the first year the restaurant is taking reservations.
