Crossroads (9-1) shut out Calvary Chapel 10-0 in a lopsided game at home Tuesday night where the lady Roadrunners dominated the field of play to add another winning notch to their practically perfect 2012-2013 soccer record.
Head Coach Albert Racca was proud of the performance of the Roadrunners against the Grizzlies.
"I couldn't be more proud of these girls," said Racca. "We have been practicing a style of play that is new to the girls and everything that the girls have practiced, we did in the game today."
Top scorers in the game included senior Bella Hernandez, juniors Emilia Delgado-Heinz and Coco Schwartz, and freshman Ami Kalokoh.
Kalokoh and Hernandez scored three goals a piece to give each girl a hat trick along while Schwartz and Kalokoh scored two goals a piece.
"Today Emilia was the MVP," said Racca. "She did really well today. She struggled in preseason but today she got it together and she played practically the whole game today."
Crossroads has dominated the field this season even though expectations hadn't been set as high as they are currently performing.
"It's literally night and day with this team and I couldn't be more proud," said Racca. "From the beginning of the preseason to right now, the girls have been here one hundred percent and have been committed to learning."
Next game for the Roadrunners is at home against Brentwood on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
