On Thursday, Dec. 8, at 8:30 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called to the Sephora store at 1244 Third Street Promenade to investigate a report of four suspects who had allegedly shoplifted from the store. Before the officers arrived, the suspects left and were seen entering Brookstone across the Promenade.

When the officers arrived, they spoke with the Sephora loss prevention agents who were able to point the suspects out. One of the loss prevention agents informed the officers that he had seen the suspects lifting goods from Brookstone as well (probably through the window).

The officers swung into action and detained all four suspects. The officers searched the suspects and discovered not only had they lifted goods from Sephora and Brookstone, but they also found merchandise from The Apple Store, Pac Sun, Urban Outfitters, and Footlocker, making a total of six stores they had apparently shoplifted from (quite a spree?).

The suspects faced charges of burglary and conspiracy and were as follows: 22-year-old resident of Long Beach (bail set at $20,000), 22-year-old Los Angeles resident (also charged with an outstanding warrant with bail set at $56,000), a second 22-year-old from Los Angeles (bail set at $20,000), and finally another Long Beach resident aged 22 whose bail was set at $20,000.

Not all of the Mirror's coverage of incidents involving police are portrayed in this manner.
