Dear Editor,

I personally know Cameron Davis and Nadji and a few other kids that I’m truly concerned about… Sad enough as it is, we have 10 or 12 new rollerbladers that have nowhere to look for growth and inspiration, and we cant leave it up to the kids to figure it out on their own. They need role models and guidance. It’s 2010 – practically 2011– and that means kids these days don’t want baseball diamonds and a new tetherball courts – they want a skate park to call home.

Yes Tracy is gone and we love him, but that doesn’t mean there is a sport here and its kids are ready to take part in something they believe in. I was no saint as a child, but I know rollerblading helped me stay grounded and I know that’s what these kids need. In the end the main focus here is what will the kids do now? They cant go back to when they didn’t know how to skate and they cant go back to not wanting to be the skaters they are. Boys and Girls Club: You have got your hands full more now than ever before.
