Four Clowns Presents Noah & Jonah In Santa Monica Through July 18:

Join Four Clowns on the beach in Santa Monica this summer with the first two installments of its Old Testament project.

Fresh off a stint in NYC at La Mama E.T.C., the company takes on new comedic interpretations of Noah & Jonah, created as part of an Artist Residency at the Annenberg Community Beach House, a program of the City of Santa Monica.

Noah, an exceedingly devout rule-follower, is faced with the most fantastic of tasks as God promises to destroy everyone on earth with a great flood.

Despite the doubts of his aggravatingly inquisitive wife, Noah sets out to prove he’s the man for the job, regardless of the cost.

Delightful puppets and masks accompany Noah in his amazing journey to become the father of the world.

Meanwhile, Jonah — lazy, fitful, argumentative Jonah — is charged with a mission he doesn’t want and escapes as a stowaway on a boat bound for nowhere.

Before he knows it, he is deep in the belly of a whale and forced to confront what he’s been running from. This modern hipster take on the incredible adventure is full of song, dance, puppetry, and magic.

The shows have scenic and props design by Yuri Okahana, costume design by Candy Jo Dahlstrom, and mask and puppetry design by Bob Beuth. The cast of both shows feature Don Colliver, Dave Honigman, Jamie Ann Hultgren, Connor Kelly-Eiding, Amir Levi, Lis Vizcarra, and Anna Walters.

Four Clowns with the City of Santa Monica and Annenberg Foundation will present Noah and Jonah July 9 to 18, 2014 in the courtyard of the Marion Davies Guest House at the Annenberg Community Beach House, 415 Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Monica, 90402.

Heading toward the ocean to Pacific Coast Highway, visitors turn into the Beach House at the Beach House Way traffic light. Performances of Noah are at 4:30 pm on Friday, July 11, and Thursday, July 17.

Performances of Jonah are at 4:30 pm on Thursday, July 10, Wednesday July 16, and Friday, July 18.

Tickets are free to the public; reservations required.

Reservations may be made at fourclowns.org; the elderly may call 310.458.4904 to make reservations. All shows are outdoors and appropriate for all audiences.
