Nonprofit Venice Arts turns 18 this year, and will celebrate with an afternoon of live entertainment, delicious food, wine and artisanal aguas frescas, and a silent auction of outstanding student work at its annual fundraising gala on Nov. 6.
This year’s theme is “Coming of Age, 18 Years of Venice Arts.”
The celebration, the organization’s major fundraiser for the year, will showcase several students’ talents, as well as honor individuals who have been key to Venice Arts over the years.
For 18 years, Venice Arts has fostered creativity in at-risk youth in the community through cutting-edge, media-based arts projects.
Venice Arts offers after-school, weekend and summer programs in photography, filmmaking and digital arts, as well as multi-disciplinary art discovery workshops, all free of charge to children of low-income families.
The nonprofit organization is currently a finalist for the President’s National Arts & Humanities Youth Program Awards, which recognizes top youth arts education programs in the country, and has received special recognition from numerous organizations for its innovation and dedication.
