Westside Boys Soccer Teams Kicked Out Of CIF Playoffs: St. Monica, Crossroads Defeated In Quarterfinals

The Westside saw four of its high school teams enter the playoffs and compete in a winner advances tournament bracket to determine how far teams would advance toward the championship round of the CIF Southern Section Boys Soccer.

Westside teams that competed for the 2013 CIF Southern Section crowns include: Santa Monica (8-9-3), Crossroads (16-2-4), St. Monica (14-5-3) and Windward (19-9).

St. Monica and Crossroads made it the Quarterfinals before being knocked out.

Division IV:

First Round

*Samohi lost against Carpintaria 1-0 away Friday afternoon.

Division V:

First Round

*Windward lost to Los Amigos 3-1 away Friday afternoon.

*Crossroads won against Pioneer Valley 4-1 at home Friday afternoon.

Second Round

*Crossroads won against Monrovia 1-0 away Tuesday afternoon.

Quarterfinals

*Crossroads lost against Silverado in overtime 3-2 at home Friday evening.

Division VII:

First Round

*St. Monica won away against Concordia 3-1 Friday, Feb. 15.

Second Round

*St. Monica tied Buckley 0-0 at home Wednesday afternoon and won the shootout to advance in the CIF Southern Section Soccer playoffs.

*St. Monica lost against Lennox Academy 2-0 at Airport Park Friday afternoon.
