MAR VISTA - The New Roads Jaguars held on for a 4-0 win against the Windward Wildcats, but it wasn't easy.
In the bottom of the seventh, Quinn Barbini relieved Anthony Carillo to close the game. But the Wildcats didn't go away and got the bases loaded with the tying run at home. Barbini had two outs and threw the pitch to Windward's Michael Huettner.
The sound of the bat wasn't good for Jags fans, but luckily it was a pop fly. New Roads got their second shutout in as many days.
Barbini led the Jags, going three-for-three with a triple and a double and two RBI. Carillo had six strikeouts and also batted in a run from the plate.
New Roads, which is No. 3 in its league, will be in the Mirror's Game of the Week on Thursday on the road against No. 8 Brentwood. First pitch is at 4 p.m.

BUT IT COULD BE A GOOD TEAM IF IT HAD THE RIGHT COACHING STAFF. MAYBE ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE. CHANGE IS GOOD!
