New Roads starting pitcher Christian Vibiano showed fatigue on Thursday as he and the rest of the Jaguars pitching staff have played six games in eight days. Vibiano gave up four runs in the first inning to the Wildwood Wolves.
But hot bats and strategic base-running not only brought the Jaguars back into the game but also put the game out of reach by the second inning. New Roads drove in four runs in the second inning, two in the fourth and five in the sixth en route to a 15-4 shellacking of the Wolves.
Shortstop Quinn Barbini led New Roads again, going 4-4 with four doubles and three RBI. Anthony Carillo added 3-4 with a double and an RBI and scored three times.
Vibiano gave up four runs on seven hits, but after the first inning, shut down the Wolves bats.
New Roads will play their seventh game in 10 days on Saturday against Viewpoint.
