The production of Cirque du Soleil's "OVO" in Santa Monica moved one step closer to its first performance on Jan. 20 with the raising of the blue and yellow Grand Chapiteau next to the Santa Monica Pier.

A team of 60-plus men and women hoisted more than 100 steel poles from the ground up.

Read Friday's edition of The Mirror to learn about the process of constructing the tent and the upcoming production.
