A new airport shuttle service taking travelers from Santa Monica to Los Angeles International Airport is set to start Tuesday.
The FlyAway shuttle operated by Los Angeles World Airports will pick up travelers from the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium and take them to LAX beginning July 15.
The $8 one-way service will operate hourly, from 5:45 a.m. to 11:45 p.m., every day of the year, including weekends and holidays.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is scheduled to join fellow City Councilman Mike Bonin, Santa Monica Mayor Pam O’Connor and LAWA Executive Director Gina Marie-Lindsey Monday to officially announce the service.
A FlyAway departing from the Hollywood area is also scheduled to start in September.
LAWA also operates airport shuttles that leave from Union Station, Van Nuys, Westwood and Metro’s Expo/La Brea rail station.
