Santa Monica police arrested a woman on Friday, April 25 on a domestic violence charge after a dispute with her husband.

Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to the 1100 block of Fifth Street in response to a report of a domestic dispute at 9:30 pm on this day.

Upon arrival the officers spoke with the persons involved (a husband and wife) in order to establish what had happened.

The officers discovered that this pair had been arguing about the wife's infidelity.

During the course of the argument the wife had placed her open palm against the throat of the husband and had applied pressure against his trachea.

They learned that the wife had taunted the husband in order to provoke him to hit her so that she would then be able to call the police and have her husband arrested.

Instead, what had happened was that the husband had called the police to complain about her assault on his person.

The officers subsequently arrested the wife, a woman of an undisclosed age, after she had admitted the assault and the taunting and she was charged with domestic violence.

Bail was not granted and the woman was held under an immigration detainer.
